Thanks & Giving

source

Thanksgiving... a time when families come together for Turkey dinner with all the fix'ns and don't forget the many scrumptious desserts. It's also a time to be Thankful for all the little things in our lives and a time to help those less fortunate. Traditions are carried on, and new ones are begun.

This season, I challenge you in two ways:
1. "Pay it forward" and help someone less fortunate.
2.  Create a new tradition of thanks with your family.

I'd love to hear what you did to pay it forward and your new tradition! Have a blessed Thanksgiving.  Be safe, Have Fun and Give Thanks!

Business Cards

source

Do people still have Business cards these days? The answer is yes.  Business cards are used for more than just businesses today.  They are a great way to get your name out there without a lot of paper.  It provides a quick snapshot of YOU!
  • Your Name
  • Phone Number
  • Email
  • LinkedIn URL
  • Twitter Handle
  • website - if you have one
  • Tag Line - What about you in a quick sentence.
It's easy to do with computer software and Avery Business Card stock.  Or you can try these online sites:
In the digital age, having a digital resume located on a personal website is becoming more common.  Having LinkedIn be your source of an electronic resume is also popular - reflecting your work experience and endorsements from co-workers. Technology is great - but having that card can give you the presence of being remembered by that person even better.

How many times have you bumped into someone and wanted to exchange information.  What do you do?  Pull out your phone, create a new contact and type in their info.  Then when you go back into your phone later in time, you question - Who is this person.  I'm sure that happens more than you imagine. Having a Business Card or Personal Card is also a great networking tool for Job Fairs, Interviews, Dinner Parties, Networking events of any kind etc.  You name it you can pass it out!

Ever been to a restaurants where you drop your card in the bowl for a chance to win something?? That's right - makes it easy to participate!  Who doesn't love to win things?

Have you created your personal business card yet?

Inspiring Others

source

I was at the car dealer the other day when this mother came in with her little boy. They sat next to me and he was playing with his Hotwheels race car, reenacting Sunday's NASCAR race. I asked him who his favorite driver was and he said Dale Jr. and Jeff Gordon. I asked him who he wanted to win the Championship and he said NOT Keselowski or Kyle Busch. I asked why? He followed that question up by saying, "They have poor sportsmanship. Jeff and Jr. are nice and do a lot for others, I want Jeff to win." I then asked how old he was and he said four and three quarters. I was so impressed with how much this little boy knew about the NASCAR sport and the impressions these four drivers had on him.

We never realize just how our words and actions impact others until we hear it from the mouths of kids. It was clear to me this little boy looked up to Jeff and Dale Jr.

Who inspires you? Who do you look up to?
